I guess behaving normally could be interpretated in many different ways by many different people at different levels at karma :)! I think we feel devotional and respectful naturally to those teachers who have encouraged that view from us by their excellent example of these teachings Geshe-la and Gen-la for example). They say that bodhisattvas deserve prostrations too because they are little princes :). I think we have to walk the middle way with this one just like all other principles. The spiritual tools change with every situation we encounter. That diamond mind has many facets and reflects light from all angles after all :). This is an interesting comment. How is it possible to act in that way on the Buddhist path? Is it because they did not understand afflictions are to removed and are not innate qualities of mind? How can one so react in delusions? The Abbots of Sera Je, Sera Mey, Gaden Jangtse, Gaden Shartse, Drepung Gomang and Drepung Loseling were summoned to Dharamsala by Prime Minister of Exile Tibetan Govt Professor Samdong Rinpoche very recently. Samdong Rinpoche scolded the Abbots for PUSHING THE SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN OF ALL MONKS TO RENOUNCE SHUGDEN IN THREE GREAT SEATS OF SERA, GADEN AND DREPUNG!!! He said that their insistence on the signature campaigns has made personal difficulties for H.H. the Dalai Lama. We can see the videos of HH praising the monasteries who has expelled the monks who wish to continue the practice and encourages more of it.
